ENGINEERING FAMILY FORUM PAPER PRESENTED ON 8TH AUGUST, 2018 BY TGST. AHMAD MUHAMMED YABAGI, FNATE, NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF NATE, AT THE 27TH ENGINEERING ASSEMBLY IN ABUJA.
PROTOCOLS
Distinguished colleagues, permit us to leverage on the already establish protocol.
On behalf of the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering, we thank God Almighty for the success so far of this 27th Engineering Assembly.
It will be recalled that at last year’s Assembly held here in Abuja, NATE highlighted some key issues –
The lack of response from the Head of Service of the Federation to the letter written by the President of COREN, Engr. Kashim Ali, FNSE, on the issue of discrimination, stagnation and dichotomy against our members.
I am highly delighted to inform this August Assembly that office of the HOS of the Federation has finally put to rest the issue of dichotomy via a circular dated 26/03/2018. Although, it’s full implementation is yet to be effected by some organizations.
COREN Accreditation Team – We recommended a review of the current situation so that the accreditation panels, at least, to the polytechnics and monotechnics should include NATE members.
We wish to acknowledge and appreciate COREN for granting our recommendations, however, it would be highly appreciated if more NATE members would be included in the exercise
Beyond the foregoing we wish to inform the Assembly that-
In conclusion, we wish to commend the existing cordial working relationship between the engineering family and other professionals
On this note, we wish each and every participant a safe journey back home and Allah’s unfailing guidance in our individual lives.
Thank you
Tgst. Ahmad M. Yabagi, FNATE, FNISET
National President.

I hope the President of NATE will call the attention of COREN as a matter of urgency to kindly lift the embargo of registering NATE members who are B.Tech Ed holders, as engineering Technologists. Because they were trained technologist from grassroots.

Good Comment, "NATE members wishing to register with COREN online are in dilemma of sponsors because NATE-COREN registered Technologists are not included in the registration portal"
